St. Anthony’s CYO Travel Basketball Rules and Procedures

1.     Registration
         Travel registration dates will be in June before the school year ends and
         will be posted on St. Anthony’s CYO website.

2.     The “45 day rule”
        Tryouts for travel teams may not occur more than 45 days before the
        start of the season. Thus, the following time rules apply:

                         (a). Tryouts for girls travel teams grades 5 through 8 may not
                               occur before September 1^st.

                         (b). Tryouts for boys travel teams grades 5 through 8 may not
                                occur before October 1^st.

                         (c). Tryouts for high school travel teams may not occur before
                               August 1^st. 
 

3.     Tryout rules
        There must be 2 tryouts before any cuts may be made.

        There may be 1 additional tryout, at the coach’s discretion,
        to make the final cuts and finalize the roster.
        Tryouts will be posted on St. Anthony’s CYO website at least 1 week in advance. 
 

4.     Practice rules
       Before the CYO season begins, a maximum of 2 practices per week are permitted.
       During the regular season, only 1 practice per week is permitted.
       Any practice (which includes training sessions) beyond what is permitted herein,
       must be discussed by St. Anthony’s Travel Coordinator, the coach of the team,
       and the parents of the players on the team, and must then be approved by the CYO Board.
